That’s only possible if you have more than your contact details on your website.
That means you’d do well to add an about page to your website, which is yet another page for you to sell yourself.
But you could take it a step further by adding a blog to your website.
I’m not talking “He dumped me and now I don’t know how to get over him” blog type things; the type of junk you see on Facebook.
I’m talking a blog that shows prospects the money, like “Why not getting your event planned by a professional event planner will ruin your reputation”.
Pump out articles like those and people will hang on your lips.

Email is like a donkey.
Nobody thinks a donkey is sexy, but everyone knows a donkey works seriously hard.
For some reason many people hate it; email’s demise has been prophesied a few times.
Yet, despite the negative press, email steadily ploughs on and does its job.
It’s still considered one of the best ways to reach prospects and clients.
Think about it: how much effort does it take to like one of your amazing posts on Facebook? Even a share? How much does it cost one of your followers to extend that kindness?
But someone who gives you their email address makes a far greater commitment.
If you choose the email marketing option, I set you up with a newsletter system that allows you to add up to 500 subscribers for free (you can always upgrade later).
I also set up a form on your website where website visitors can add their names and email addresses to subscribe. This automatically adds them to your newsletter system.
But you don’t have to create email newsletters manually.

Search engine marketing
If you want first position in Google there are two ways to do it…
You could run paid ads and rocket to the top. The problem is, the moment one of your competitors outbids you, or the moment you switch off paid ads, your traffic plunges like an attendee who drank too much in the lounge zone.
The other way is to target keywords in your niche and steadily write articles around those keywords.
If done correctly it’ll show a long term growth in traffic for those keywords.
Here are some of the searches people do for services like yours:
- event planner near me
- cheap event planners near me
- baby shower event planner near me
- corporate event planners near me
- wedding event planners near me
- birthday party event planners near me
- children’s party event planners near me
- event designer near me
You might think, “I don’t do baby showers, you idiot, and I’m DEFINITELY NOT cheap!!!”
And “You may be right, I may be crazy, But it just may be a lunatic you’re looking for!”
But don’t miss the important thing here.
In all of those searches you MUST notice the potential for traffic to your website, whether you offer a specific service or not.
Granted, you don’t want to go too far off the mark with your targeting, but it’s a great idea to cast the net a little wider sometimes, because someone who can afford an event planner for their kid’s birthday party is possibly in the corporate space, which means they might approach you one day when their company hosts an event.
And let me remind you: if you don’t want to add content yourself, hire me to do it.
I just can’t see you using Gmail or Yahoo for your event planning business. I can’t imagine people taking you seriously.

You could keep posting your event pics to Instagram and sharing event planning tips to Facebook.
But social media has the lifespan of a few winks.
