Right at the tip of Cape St Francis you’ll find the Seal Point lighthouse, an Eastern Cape gem which has been guiding ships safely away from the treacherous reefs of St Francis since 1878.
In addition to the lighthouse faithfully doing its job as beacon it’s recently been turned into an accommodation destination of note, offering a unique experience.
Next to the lighthouse you’ll find Nevermind restaurant, the seemingly offish name a far cry from the warm hospitality and delicious food you’ll enjoy when you take a seat here.
The accommodation / restaurant venture was started by Petrel Ventures, representing a consortium of St Francis business, in an effort to drive more people to this gorgeous little town.
Petrel approached us for a website for their enterprise, a project we gladly accepted.
The main goal of the website is to drive accommodation bookings.
Because booking websites (like booking.com) take a serious commission cut (up to and beyond 30%), it makes sense for independent accommodation providers to try and drive more traffic directly to their own websites.
Coupling their own websites with a booking system like Booksure allows the accommodation provider to enjoy more profit. It also gives the accommodation owner the opportunity to offer direct bookers discount or other special offers.
With their main goal in mind we set up their website to make it clear that the main goal is to book accommodation.
Other goals include booking at the restaurant.
In future they’ll offer tower tours as well as function hire.
To accommodate all these needs we set up contact forms that allow website visitors to choose which goal they’d like to achieve.
The website also gives the owners the chance to update patrons and prospects with the latest news from their establishment.
In addition to the news section, an automatic newsletter ensures that those who sign up for the newsletter receive news every time a new news item is added to the site.
Of course, as with all our other sites, we set up a weekly analytics report that goes out to the owners. This allows them to see if there’s growth in visitors, where that growth is from and which buttons are most clicked on the site.
